KNAPP MUSEUM OF LOCAL HISTORY In 2016, volunteers opened a trunk stored in the attic of the museum, they were shocked to find 105 oil paintings and 135 illustrations done by Helen M. Hastings, the granddaughter of James Seymour who settled here in 1817. Helen studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art between 1898 and 1904 under Cecilia Beaux and William Merritt Chase and at Drexel Institute under Howard Pyle.
