Join the Town of Clarkson & UR Medicine, Golisano Children's Hospital, Pediatric Emergency Department Winter Safety Day February 21 Noon 3PM Goodwin Lodge at Hafner Park, 3655 Lake Road, Clarkson Kids and adults! Join us for an afternoon of safety activities! UR Medicine, Kessler Trauma Burn Center - Learn about prevention and treatment of burns. Poison Control - UR Medicine, Golisano Children's Hospital Pediatric Emergency Dept. will educate all on prevention and what to do in an emergency. Helmet Safety - UR Medicine Karen Knauf, program manager for the Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Rochester & Pediatric Emergency Dept. nurses will provide free helmets and proper fitting with education on importance of wearing helmets while participating in summer and winter activities such as biking, skateboarding and skiing. The helmets provided by Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Rochester. Snowmobile Safety - New York State Park Police will have a snowmobile on display and will discuss the laws and safety surrounding use of a snowmobile. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children - Will provide Child ID Kits. Stop The Bleed Campaign - UR Medicine Strong West Emergency Dept nurses will empower and train bystanders to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Automatic Electronic Defibrillator (AED) Training - UR Medicine, Golisano Children's Hospital Pediatric Emergency Dept. will demonstrate proper use of AED and allow hands on training.
